Sigmund knocked and turned the doorknob. It was not locked. Then he saw Atheros sweating and bleeding as he laid on the bed. Sigmund immediately walked towards him. “What’s the matter? You’re abdomen is bleeding.” Sigmund scanned the man’s body, looking for the wound. Apparently he has too many, some were shut and some were open.

“Aye, but don’t mind the bruises, Sig. They’re ok. Just help me wrap this cloth around my waist. This’ll help with the bleeding.” Atheros said as he struggled and panted.

“No, Atheros. Before I wrap you up this large slit needed stitching.” he said without looking at the man. Sigmund ignored him and moved to find the first aid kit but Atheros gripped him by the arm gently. “No, it’s alright. We could stitch it on the way tomorrow, I’ve bothered you enough, just help me tie the ends behind my back and go back and get some rest.” Atheros nodded and tried an assuring smile. His face was so stressed and sweating.

Sigmund looked at the man with all admiration. He bent over and laid his palm over Atheros’ sweating hand. Then he looked at Atheros in the eyes. “You saved us. All of us. Twice. If there is anything I could do, and I most certainly will, I will do for you, my friend. You’ve done so much. Let me do something for you. Please.”

Atheros heaved and nodded in agreement. He relaxed himself and laid down on his back as he waited for Sigmund to stitch his wounds.
